The Power of Nearpod

Being in a 1-to-1 school has its advantageous. There are a lot of apps I use to engage, streamline, and enhance. I love video apps like Touchcast, iMovie, and Flipgrid. I love organizing with Google Drive and Google Classroom. However, there is no app I like better in the classroom than Nearpod. It is the best presentation app.

It is simple to use and extremely versatile. As a librarian, I only have 1 class that is truly to mine. Most classes come in once a month or once every other week. Nearpod makes it quick and easy for my students to jump into lesson and be engaged.

Here are my top ten favorite things about using Nearpod with my kiddos:

10. It makes recognizing my 500+ names much easier.

9. Students join my session quickly.

8. I can easily pretest and posttest my student's knowledge.

7. It improves student presentations tenfold.

6. I can easily convert my Google Slide shows and PowerPoints into interactive Nearpods.

5. Students love the self-expression of the Draw It tool.

4. Students can easily go on virtual field trips that connect to the lesson.

3. While iPads are great, they can be a distraction. Nearpod lets me easily see who is leaving the app.

2. I can get reports to review my lesson after.

1. I can track every student's engagement.

If you haven't checked out Nearpod yet, do yourself a favor and sign up!
